Mixed month as Aberdeen hotels show signs of stablisation

Market declines in Aberdeen continue to show signs of stablisation as hotels in Scotland’s three largest cities reported a mixed month during August.

The latest monthly LJ Forecaster Scottish Intercity Report, from tourism market research firm LJ Research, showed flat overall performance for city centre hotels in glasgow, strong growth in Edinburgh and a continuation of double-digit negative yields in Aberdeen during the month.

Glasgow’s latest luxury hotel Crossbasket Castle in High Blantyre is on the hunt for top hospitality talent.  Set to open for the first time in spring this year, the five-star hotel is holding open days at the castle on 6th February and 5th March to support its drive to recruit a variety of positions, from junior roles to senior management.

Glasgow hotels see 10 percent revenue rise

Glasgow hoteliers have seen a near 10 percent rise in revenue per available room (revpar), according to research. The Scottish Intercity Report, from LJ Forecaster, said hotels in Scotland’s biggest city had benefited from greater room rates in April even though there was small fall in occupancy levels.

It was boosted by the Commonwealth Law Conference and the Congress of the European Accounting Association.
